2µm pulsed Microchip laser

The 2µm pulsed source reaches a pulse energy as high as 270µJ, combining spectral tunability from 1.94 to 1.96 µm with a single longitudinal mode (SLM) output upon request. 
This 2µm laser operates at a repetition rate up to 5kHz and a few tens of ns pulse duration. 

Its main applications include LIDAR, detection of atmospheric gases and molecules, medical and surgical procedures, processing of plastics, and many others.

This source was developed in partnership with ONERA and THALES R&T as part of a project funded by the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA).
